Specifications:

  1. Installations of all pool-side telephone facilities (including housings).  Must meet all applicable codes (ie. CEC, CSA, Local Codes).

  2. Outside boxes or compartments must be arranged or located so that telephone jacks are accessible only by residents and guests on the premises.

  3. Outlet box may be standard 50 mm x 75 mm (2" x 3") box when installed in building wall with jack and face plate. Weather-proof, corrosion-resistant boxes shall be installed in exposed outdoor locations. Outlet boxes are to be located a minimum 380 mm (15") above deck grade.

  4. Location of outlets shall not allow placement and use of telephone set closer than 1500 (5'-0") from edge of pool. Unless pool to jack distance is increased above the minimum 460 mm (15'-0"), use of standard 1800 (6'-0") cords for all portable telephones on the premises will be required.

  5. When compartments are provided, they shall be positioned not less than 760 mm (30") above deck grade. Compartments housing jack only shall have minimum inside dimensions of 100 mm wide x 150 mm high x 100 mm deep (4" x 6" x 4"). Compartments housing jack and telephone shall have minimum inside dimensions of 250 mm side x 200 mm high x 250 mm deep (10" x 8" x 10").

  6. Where ring-indicating lamps are provided with jack installations, lamps and jacks should be placed 1500 mm (5'-0") to 1800 (6'-0") up on wall with lamps positioned above jacks.

  7. Where built-in compartments with multiple wiring access are provided a single 50 mm (2") conduit must be provided to the main building terminal locations.

  8. Facilities for protection from direct exposure to weather shall be provided for portable telephones in all outdoor installations.

  9. Wherever Pool Side Telephone Service is desired and there is no building close at hand to hang attachments, 25 mm (1") rigid corrosion resistant pipe pedestals must be supplied by the customer.
