Side Reach

The highest operable part which is essential to the basic operation of the telephone can be a maximum of 1370 mm (54"). The bottom leading edge must be mounted 685 mm (27") or below.

Side Reach Floor Plan

There must be clear floor space of 763mm (30") by 1219mm (48").  The maximum shelf may extend past the telephone face is 254 mm (10").

Forward Reach

The highest operable part which is essential to the basic operation of the telephone can be a maximum of 1219 mm (48"). The bottom leading edge must be mounted 685 mm (27") or below.

Forward Reach Floor Plans

There must be a clear floor space of 760 mm (30") by 1220 mm (48"). The staff may not extend more than 508 mm (20") beyond the telephone face. The sides of the booth may not extend more than 609 mm (24")beyond the telephone face.

If the sides of the booth extend more than 609 mm (24")beyond the telephone face an additional 152 mm (6") of maneuvering space is required.

Cord Length

The cord from the telephone to the handset shall be at least 737 mm (6") of maneuvering space is required.

Directories

Directories, if provided, shall be mounted no lower then 380 mm (15") for forward reach requirement and no lower then 229 mm (15") for side reach requirement.
