  1. In the cases of a tri-plex, or four-plex unit, TELUS Communications Inc. recommends a 19mm conduit be installed from the protector terminal location to the main telephone outlet location in each unit.  This is required due to the increased probability of damage or loss and privacy of service to tenants in the building.  In addition, the provisioning of conduit allows increased flexibility when additional services are required.  If each unit is serviced separately, the conduit runs will be required from the power panel in each unit, to each protector location.
  2. For the protection of your communication equipment, life and building, TELUS Communications Inc. requires the placement of a No. 6 green insulated A.W.G. ground wire at the protector terminal.  This ground wire shall be connected to a suitable ground electrode and installed as per The Canadian Electrical Code part 1.  It is the builders/owners/developers responsibility to provide and install the ground wire.
