In areas where TELUS Communications Company provisions with buried
cable, TELUS Communications Company is responsible for providing and
installing the network wiring to the property, and the owner/developer
is responsible for a suitable trench and/or conduit as stipulated by
TELUS Communications Company from the property line to the building
service provider demarcation location.
Note:
A suitable trench shall be a minimum of 450mm deep (600mm preferred,
900mm for area subject to vehicular traffic or 600mm with mechanical
protection) and a width capable of accommodating the wire or cable placement. If conduit is required, the size and type will be stipulated by TELUS Communications
Company and shall be placed a minimum of 450mm deep. The trench
and/or conduit shall be provided between the building and property
line as specified by TELUS Communications Company (See C.E.C Sec.
60-600).

In areas provisioned by aerial cable, TELUS Communications Company will
provide buried service, if requested, upon the owner/developer
providing a suitable trench and/or conduit as required. TELUS
Communications Company reserves the right to levy any additional charges
deemed necessary for the provision of this service.

Where communication and power service conductors are to be buried in
a common trench, the conductors shall be separated by 300mm of well
tamped earth or sand, or 75mm of concrete, or placed in conduit -
(Orange PVC DBII). The exception to the rule is when concentric
neutral power cables are used, where random separation is acceptable.
TELUS Communications Company shall be notified a minimum of 48 hours
before backfilling

TELUS Communications Company shall provide network service wire or
cable for direct buried services to an outside location

Network service conduit shall extend down the outside wall into the
excavation a minimum of 300mm below final grade and extend up the outside wall to a point 1.3m above finished grade. Conduits shall
not be bent along the bottom of the trench. (Refer to Fig. 1).
Network service conduit shall terminate in a "T"-Bend (T.B.) access fittings as indicated in Figure 1,
"L"-Bend (L.B.) or in an approved enclosure.

The telephone service pathway should be as close as possible to the
power service facilities up to the TELUS protector location. A
25mm conduit is to be provided by the owner/developer from the
protected terminal to the demarcation point (inside house) complete
with a No. 6 green insulated ground wire connected to the power
service ground. See Section 3

Notes:

A No. 6 green insulated ground wire to be
placed from power ground by owner/developer to TELUS NIB. Two
separate 4-pair CAT5e set runs should be placed between this common
location and the NIB located outside the home. The inside
wiring should be done in a "star configuration" where the individual
set runs from each telephone jack and TV location collect at a
common location.

A 3 m length of 'working slack'
TELUS entrance wire must extend from the end of the 25 mm
conduit and a 1 m length of 'working slack' for the No. 6 green
insulated ground wire and 4-pair CAT5e inside wire if not placed by
TELUS. DO NOT CUT TELUS ENTRANCE DROP WIRE.
