Section 3 - Grounding Requirements

  1. All residential buildings (including mobile homes) require a number 6 Green insulated A.W.G. ground wire (Max 8M) at the location of each communication circuit protector.  The owner/developer is responsible for providing this number 6 insulated ground and a 25mm conduit from the TELUS Communications Inc. protector location to the electrical power panel.  The ground wire shall be connected to a suitable ground electrode and installed in accordance with The Canadian Electrical Code Part 1.

  1. Buildings classified as Office, Commercial, Industrial, Institutional and Apartments, Townhouses, Row Housing and Condominiums will require the building owner/developer to supply and install a No. 6 green insulated A.W.G. (max 8M) or larger ground wire as specified by TELUS Communications Inc. at the location of the communication network circuit protectors.  This ground wire shall be connected to a suitable building ground electrode and be installed in accordance with The Canadian Electrical Code, Part 1.
