1. Internal network distribution cabinets shall be flush or surface mounted complete with a hinged door, catch and lock and 19mm plywood backboard.  (T-type or equivalent).
2. External network distribution cabinets shall be CSA Weatherproof Enclosures or approved equivalent.
3. All network distribution cabinets shall include:

1. A plywood backboard 19mm in depth which covers the entire inside back of the cabinet.
2. No. 6 insulated A.W.G. ground wire

4. Plywood distribution back boards may not be substituted for standard telephone cabinets except as identified in Section 3 - Non Public Access - Secured.
5. Telephone cabinets shall be installed with the top of the cabinet 1.98m above the finished floor or grade.  In no instance shall the bottom of the cabinet be lower than 610mm above the finished floor or grade.
6. The size and number of network distribution cabinets is generally dependant on the number of network connections to be made and shall in each case be approved by TELUS Communications Inc.
7. All network distribution cabinets shall at all times be readily accessible to TELUS Communications Inc. personnel.
