- General
- Network conductors or communication circuits (The Canadian
Electrical Code Section O Definitions) installed in suspended
ceilings and/or air ducts, plenums or hollow spaces that are used to
transport environmental air shall meet the Alberta Building Code and
Local Codes).
- The size of raceways is dependent on the size and quantity of
wiring to be installed.
- All conduits shall be rigidly installed, adequately supported and
properly reamed at both ends. Sections of conduits shall be
jointed with approved couplings and conduit terminations in outlet
boxes, pull boxes, etc., and shall be be constructed using approved
fittings.
- Insulated bushings or connectors shall be used on open ended
metallic conduits 32mm and over.
- Pull boxes shall be provided in sections of conduit greater than
30m in length when there are more than 2 - 90 degree bends.
- Bends in conduit shall be of the long sweep radius type wherever
possible and practical.
- Pull Boxes
- Pull boxes shall be installed in easily accessible locations.
- Pull boxes should not be installed in lieu of bends, unless
specified by TELUS Communication Inc.
- The corresponding conduits at each end of a pull box shall be
terminated in alignment with each other.
- The size of pull boxes shall be as follows:

- The placement of pull boxes and/or junction boxes, either for
external or internal applications must be verified with TELUS
Communications Inc. for size and location for each specific project.
