- For underground network service, the building owner or occupant
shall provide the required number of entrance ducts as specified by
TELUS Communications Inc.
- These ducts will connect from the Network Interface to the location
specified by TELUS Communications Inc. at the property line.
- TELUS Communications Inc. is responsible for connecting and
extending the duct(s) from the specified property line location to its
service pole or underground service facility.
- Underground entrance ducts in areas subject to vehicular loads shall
be encased in concrete to a minimum of 76mm and shall cover all sides
of the duct(s).
- The installation of underground ducts and/or manholes shall be
carried out in accordance with rules and regulations for underground
lines adopted under the Electrical Protection Act of Alberta, CEC, CSA
C-22.3 #7-94 and local codes
- Grading of ducts and depth of placement on private property shall
align with the connecting ducts of TELUS Communications Inc. on public
right of way. This will generally by 915mm (3") below
final grade at the property line and graded away from the building.
- Underground ducts from the building(s) to the property line shall be
100mm (4") in diameter. The number of objects shall be
verified by TELUS Communications Inc. for each project under
consideration.
- All existing underground duct shall be clean, clear of obstructions
and equipped with a 40kg test nylon pull line.
- The unterminated end of ducts shall be capped, and their locations
recorded and appropriately marked for future reference. (2"
x 4" pole, painted orange)
- Although conduit and ducts can be utilized in gas plants, chemical
plants etc., where accumulation of hazardous gases can occur, manholes
or handholds must not be placed to house TELUS Communications Inc.
facilities.
- The placement of pull boxes and/or junction boxes, either for
external or internal applications, must be verified with TELUS
Communications Inc. for size and location for each specific project.
