Section 3 - Plywood Backboards - Non Public Access - Secured

  1. Plywood backboards for TELUS Communications Inc. shall not be installed in public areas.  See Section 3 - Public Access Cabinets
  2. The building owner or occupant shall supply and install 19mm plywood backboards for the mounting of TELUS Communications Inc.'s network termination equipment.  The size of backboard is dependent on the number of network connections to be made and will be identified by TELUS Communications Inc. for each building project.  
  3. Plywood backboards shall be attached to the building walls and shall be capable of supporting a maximum dead weight of 15 lbs/sq. ft. (.1 lbs/sq. in.)
  4. Backboards shall at all times be readily accessible to TELUS Communications Inc. personnel, and shall be placed in a location mutually agreed upon by TELUS Communications Inc. and the owner/developer.  (1m working area must be maintained as per Canadian Electrical Code Section 2-308)
  5. No. 6 insulated A.W.G. ground wire.  See Section 3 - Grounding Requirements.
