The following rates apply to Canadian originated Operator Handled calls (Collect & Billed to a third number, US LEC Calling Cards), that are billed in the United States, by a US carrier.

A transaction charge (US$) applies for each collect call, as follows, in addition to the rates per minute specified above.

Chargeable Duration

A. Message toll service rates are applied on a per minute basis. The rates apply to each minute of a call or fraction of a minute. All messages are subject to a minimum message charge of three (3) minutes.

B. Chargeable time for person-to-person calls begins when the operator has established the connection between the caller and the caller's re-quested party and ends when the connection is terminated.

C. Chargeable time for station-to-station calls begins when connection is established between the calling and called numbers and ends when the connection is terminated.

Application of Rates

A. Rates for service apply in accordance with the day of the week and the rate period in which the call is placed. The rate period is determined by the time of day at which connection is established at the exchange that serves the calling telephone. When a call begins on one day or in one rate period and ends in another, the rate initially applicable applies.

B. A rate period commences at the time specified and extends to but does not include the time specified for the start of the next rate period.

C. Rates and rate periods are as specified above.

D. Christmas Day and New Year's Day Discount: the Night Rates apply during all hours of service Christmas Day (December 25) and New Year's Day (January 1).
