The use of cookies is now an industry standard, and most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies.

You can reset your browser to notify you when you have received a cookie, or to refuse cookies altogether. You can also instruct your browser to alert you every time a cookie is offered. Then you can decide whether to accept or reject the cookie.

Internet Explorer 6.x

  1. Choose Tools
  2. Select Internet Options
  3. Click the Privacy tab
  4. Click Override automatic cookie handling
  5. Select your cookie options

Internet Explorer 5.x

  1. Choose Tools
  2. Select Internet Options
  3. Click the Security tab
  4. Click Internet, then Custom Level
  5. Scroll down to Cookies and choose one of the two options

Firefox 1.x, Netscape 8.x

  1. On your task bar, click Tools
  2. Select Options
  3. Click the Privacy Icon
  4. Click Cookies
  5. Select your cookie options

Opera 8.x

  1. On your task bar, click Tools
  2. Select Preferences
  3. Click the Advanced tab
  4. Click Cookies
  5. Select your cookie options

  1. On your task bar, click Tools
  2. Select Internet Options
  3. Under the tab General (the default tab) click Settings
  4. Click View Files

Internet Explorer 5.x

  1. On your task bar, click Tools
  2. Select Internet Options
  3. Under the tab General (the default tab) click Settings
  4. Click View Files

Firefox 1.x, Netscape 8.x

  1. On your task bar, click Tools
  2. Select Options
  3. Click the Privacy Icon
  4. Click Cookies
  5. Click View Cookies

Opera 8.x

  1. On your task bar, click Tools
  2. Select Preferences
  3. Click the Advanced tab
  4. Click Cookies
  5. Click Manage cookies
