Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer

Bob has responsibility for financial and strategic functions at TELUS supporting a more than 800-person finance team that includes financial reporting and analysis, finance operations, risk management, revenue assurance, taxation, investor relations, treasury, pension investment management, ventures investment, mergers and acquisitions, corporate strategy and regulatory and government affairs. He is also responsible for the financial policy of TELUS and its relationships with the capital market.

Bob was formerly EVP, CFO and secretary-treasurer of Clearnet Communications Inc. from its 1994 IPO until its $6.5 billion acquisition by TELUS in the fall of 2000.

During Bob's career as CFO, his Finance teams have received considerable external recognition for innovative and successful large financings, risk management and CSR practices, treasury and investor relations activities. In 2007, Bob was named Canada’s Top CFO by Canadian Business magazine. In 2008, the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) presented TELUS with five awards at its annual awards gala, including the overall award of excellence for Corporate Reporting for the second year in a row. Also in 2008, the TELUS 2007 annual report ranked among the best in the world, according to a global survey of annual reports. The Annual Report on Annual Reports by e.com awarded TELUS an A+ and ranked our report third best in the world.

Bob is a director of various TELUS subsidiaries and a vice-chair of the Business Council of British Columbia and a member of its Economic Policy Committee. Bob is a director and chair of the Audit Committee of Royal & SunAlliance Insurance Company of Canada. In addition, Bob is a director and is on the Finance Committee of Vancouver College, and serves on the Vancouver Advisory Board of the Salvation Army, British Columbia Division and the National Advisory Board of the Salvation Army.  Bob is also on the Queen’s University Campaign Committee.

Bob obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from Queen's University in 1983 and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario in 1985.

Executive Vice-President and President Consumer Solutions

Joe leads our consumer solutions team, which is responsible for providing Canadians with innovative communications, information and entertainment solutions for both their home and mobile needs.

Joe joined TELUS in 2003, and most recently served as executive vice-president, Business Solutions, where he was responsible for providing integrated telecommunications and information technology solutions to private and public sector business customers across Canada and internationally.

Prior to joining the TELUS team in 2003, Joe held successive senior leadership roles within KPMG Consulting (BearingPoint) including country leader for Canada, global managing director for the automotive and transportation practice, managing partner for the consumer and industrial markets teams in Canada.

Joe joined KPMG after the company he co-founded, PNO Management Consultants Inc., was acquired by KPMG in 1997. He served on the board of directors of KPMG Canada in 1998 and 1999.

Joe received a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. He is a member of the board of directors of the Royal Conservatory of Music, Soulpepper Theatre and Livingston International Inc. He has been a frequent guest lecturer at the University of Waterloo on the topic of entrepreneurship. Joe is a past recipient of Canada's Top 40 Under 40 Award.

 
Karen Radford

Karen Radford

Executive Vice-President and President, Business Solutions

Karen leads the Business Solutions team and is responsible for providing innovative telecommunications and information technology solutions to private and public sector business customers across Canada and internationally.

Most recently, Karen served as executive vice-president and president, TELUS Québec and TELUS Partner Solutions.  In this role, she was responsible for growing our consumer and business customer market share in Quebec and providing wholesale and carrier services to telecommunications providers, as well as operator services for customers at work, at home and on the move.

Since joining TELUS in 1998, Karen has held a number of senior roles, including vice president, Customer Care; vice president, National Service Fulfillment; and vice president, National Service Assurance. In addition, she was a core member of the national expansion team.  Karen began her telecommunications career at NBTel, where her experience included marketing, sales, information solutions and operations.

Karen received a Masters of Business Administration from Dalhousie University in 1991 and a Bachelor of Science from Mount Allison University in 1989. She is a sought-after speaker on business issues such as strategic leadership and growth and development.

Consistent with TELUS' values, Karen is keenly committed to her local community.  Karen serves as a national adviser to Youth in Motion and Women in Motion. She is a member of the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation. In addition to being president and co-founder of the Women's Leadership Foundation, Karen also sits on the board of directors of Loblaw Companies Limited.

In 2004, 2005 and 2006, the Toronto-based Women's Executive Network (WXN) selected Karen as one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women and named to her to the WXN Hall of Fame in 2007. She is also a 2006 recipient of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 and was named Woman of the Year by the Canadian Women in Communications organization in 2007.

 
Kevin Salvadori

François Côté

En poste à Montréal, François est responsable d’accroître davantage la présence de l’entreprise au Québec et de faire progresser la stratégie nationale de l’entreprise en matière de soins de santé, grâce entre autres à des investissements dans des applications novatrices en matière de technologies de l’information et des communications.

Au cours d’une carrière de 28 ans, François a acquis une expérience de premier plan en affaires et une connaissance approfondie du secteur de la santé et du monde dynamique des télécommunications. François a été président et chef de la direction d’Emergis, une société cotée en bourse, avant d’être nommé président de TELUS Solutions en santé, à la suite de l’acquisition d’Emergis par TELUS en janvier 2008.

Avant de se joindre à TELUS, François a occupé divers postes de direction sur une période de 21 ans au sein de Bell Canada. Il détient un baccalauréat en relations industrielles de l’Université Laval. En 2007, Ernst & Young l’a nommé Entrepreneur de l’année dans la catégorie Redressement d’entreprise pour la région de Québec. François siège aux conseils d’administration de l’Institut de cardiologie de Montréal et de Acti-Menu et il est membre du Conseil des gouverneurs pour la Fondation de la tolérance.

 

Executive Vice-President and President of both TELUS Québec and TELUS Health Solutions

Based in Montreal, François is responsible for further expanding the company's strong presence in Quebec and advancing TELUS' national health care strategy through investment in innovative information, communications and technology applications.

François' 28 year career has given him first-hand business experience and deep insight into the health sector and the dynamic telecommunications industry. Formerly President and Chief Executive Officer of Emergis, a publicly traded company, François was named President of TELUS Health Solutions following the company's acquisition by TELUS in January, 2008.

Prior to joining TELUS, François held a variety of management positions during a career that spanned 21 years at Bell Canada. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations from Laval University. In 2007 he was named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in the category of Turnaround Entrepreneur for the Quebec region. François serves on the boards of the Montreal Heart Institute (Institut de Cardiologie de Montréal) and Acti-Menu, and is a member of the Board of Governors for the Fondation de la tolérance (Conseil des Gouverneurs).
