Darren Entwistle

President and Chief Executive Officer

Darren joined TELUS as President and Chief Executive Officer in 2000, bringing extensive and diverse leadership experience in global telecommunications operations.

Before joining TELUS, Darren, an 18-year veteran of the communications industry, spent seven years on the senior leadership team at Cable & Wireless in the United Kingdom, culminating with his appointment as President of the company for the United Kingdom and Ireland in 1999.

Darren earned a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) degree from Concordia University, an MBA in finance from McGill University and a diploma in Network Engineering from the University of Toronto. He is on a number of boards including Canadian Council of Chief Executives and McGill University.

Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Bob has responsibility for financial and strategic functions at TELUS supporting a more than 800-person finance team that includes financial reporting and analysis, finance operations, risk management, revenue assurance, taxation, investor relations, treasury, pension investment management, ventures investment, mergers and acquisitions and corporate strategy. He is also responsible for the financial policy of TELUS and its relationships with the capital market.

Bob was formerly EVP, CFO and secretary-treasurer of Clearnet Communications Inc. from its 1994 IPO until its $6.5 billion acquisition by TELUS in the fall of 2000.

During Bob's career as CFO, his Finance teams have received considerable external recognition for innovative and successful large financings, risk management and CSR practices, treasury and risk management and investor relations activities. In 2007, Bob was named Canada’s Top CFO by Canadian Business magazine and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) presented TELUS with five awards at its annual awards gala, including the overall award of excellence for Corporate Reporting. Also in 2007, TELUS’ 2006 annual report was ranked among the best in the world according to the Annual Report on Annual Reports, a global survey of annual reports.

Bob is a director of various TELUS subsidiaries and a vice-chair of the Business Council of British Columbia and a member of its Economic Policy Committee. Bob is a director and chair of the Audit Committee of Royal & SunAlliance Insurance Company of Canada. In addition, Bob serves on the Vancouver Advisory Board of the Salvation Army, British Columbia Division.

Bob obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from Queen's University in 1983 and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario in 1985.

 
Joseph Grech

Executive Vice President, Network Planning and Operations

Joe is responsible for all of TELUS' field operations, the reliability of TELUS national wireline and wireless networks and the planning, engineering and logistics functions. His mandate is to deliver efficient communications solutions including voice, data and Internet Protocol services for TELUS customers. Joe's previous role was executive vice president of Technology and Operations for TELUS Communications.

Joe joined TELUS in 2000 to lead TELUS Partner Solutions, assuming responsibility for wireline Technology and Operations in 2004. His background includes more than 20 years of domestic and international experience including sales, marketing, business development, technology introduction, engineering, operations, product management and regulatory expertise. Joe has held senior positions at Cable & Wireless in the United Kingdom, AT&T Canada (Allstream) and Nortel.

In 1985, Joe received a Bachelor of Applied Science (Electrical Engineering) degree from the University of Toronto. He serves as a director on the Vancouver Board of Trade.
