Yes, under federal legislation, total non-Canadian ownership of the voting shares of Canadian telecommunications companies, including TELUS Corporation, is limited to 33 1/3%. To control and monitor this level, TELUS has implemented a Reservation System. This system requires non-Canadian purchasers of voting shares to obtain a reservation number from the transfer agent, Computershare Investor Services (1-877-267-2236). The purchaser is notified within two hours if common shares are available. There are no ownership restrictions on the non-voting shares and they have same dividend and other rights as the voting shares.
