R. John Butler, Q.C. is counsel to Bryan & Company, a law firm. John served on the Board of ED TEL (Edmonton Telephones) prior to its acquisition by TELUS Corporation and on the Board of TELUS Corporation prior to its 1999 merger with BC TELECOM Inc. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Trans Global Insurance Company, Trans Global Life Insurance Company and a trustee of the Liquor Stores Income Fund. John has also served as Chair of the Edmonton Eskimos Football Club and a member of the Board of Governors of the Canadian Football League. John holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Alberta. He currently is a member of the TELUS Human Resources and Compensation Committee and a member of the TELUS Corporate Governance Committee.
