Summer’s not over just yet, more outdoor music is on the way! The Ottawa Folk Festival runs September 6-10, a five-day celebration of music, dance and visual arts. And this is YOUR chance to attend!
From August 27 - 30 we are running a Video Scavenger Hunt contest featuring some of our favourite Festival performers! The prize is two Folk Club passes – 5-day passports offering full access to the Folk Club area at the CUPE-SCFP Stage, including five transferable single-day-tickets, one for each day of the event, that grant access to the general admission area plus a separate section that features private bar service, washroom facilities, and a limited number of patio tables and chairs (first come, first served!).
All YOU have to do is answer the trivia questions below. Starting Monday, August 27th, send your three answers to firstname.lastname@example.org. The first three correct submissions WIN! See Rules and Regs below for more information.
Here we go!
Ottawa songstress Kathleen Edwards joins us at the Festival on the CUPE-SCFP Stage on Friday, September 7. Although currently touring her acclaimed fourth album Voyageur, Edwards is arguably best-known for her 2005 single “Back to Me”. In the music video for the song, Edwards sings and plays guitar in front of a DINER that reads: “[blank] Style Cooking”. Fill in that blank.
Straight from sun-drenched Southern California, Hooded Fang hits the Tartan Homes Stage of the Festival on Saturday, September 8. Described as a “fuzzy” indie-pop ensemble, they’re currently touring with their second album, Tosta Mista. In the video for the track with the same, the audience is first asked “How Do You Ask For A Date?”, and secondly “How Do You Choose A Date?”. What is the third question posed?
Grammy Award Winning folk band Bon Iver hits the CUPE-SCFP Stage at the Ottawa Folk Festival on Monday, September 10. They became insta-famous after releasing their debut album For Emma, Forever Ago, and are currently touring their second self-titled collection Bon Iver, Bon Iver. In the video for the track “Holocene”, what colour is the young boy’s hooded sweater?
