St. Albert, AB – Now until August 8, 2012, TELUS will give $25 in support of the Sturgeon Community Hospital Foundation for every new Optik TV customer in St. Albert*.

The foundation will use the funding to provide state-of-the-art equipment enhancements for the Digital Operating Rooms at the Sturgeon Community Hospital. These Digital Operating Rooms allow doctors to perform minimally invasive surgeries resulting in immeasurable benefits to the patient.

“Our TELUS team in St. Albert is excited to raise funds for innovative healthcare technology that contributes to the health and well-being of community members. With $25 on behalf of every new Optik TV customer in our community going to the Sturgeon Community Hospital Foundation, we hope to make a meaningful difference,” said Yolanta Miller, TELUS general manager for St. Albert. “TELUS is passionate about health care and we are proud to do our part. The funds we raise from every new Optik TV customer in St. Albert will help the Sturgeon Community Hospital Foundation provide even better care for patients in our community.”

TELUS and its team members have given $265,000 to St. Albert community groups since 2000 through corporate donations and sponsorships.
