Québec government supports growth and investment within the province
Montreal, Québec – The opening of a new TELUS call centre creating at least 150 new jobs in the heart of Montreal by the end of June 2007 was announced today by the Québec Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export, Mr. Raymond Bachand, and the President of TELUS Québec, Ms. Karen Radford.
“The fact that a high-performing and thriving company like TELUS chose to set up a call centre dedicated to businesses in the Montreal region shows once again that the province of Québec is a highly competitive place for companies that wish to expand their business, states Mr. Bachand. The Government of Québec is pleased to announce that TELUS will obtain a tax credit for major employment-generating projects in the information technology sector.”
TELUS' $3.5 million call centre is equipped with the most advanced technology available today and will be powered by an elite team of information technology professionals. The new team in Montreal will be responsible for providing superior customer service to TELUS' small and medium size business clients located outside the province of Québec.

We are very proud to have the Government of Québec's support to pursue our objective to offer quality jobs for the people here,” said Karen Radford. “With the opening of our new call centre, TELUS will be able to continue to meet the growing needs of small and medium businesses while focussing on the superior customer service our clients have come to expect.”
“With the fiscal measure for major employment-generating projects managed by Investissement Québec, the government now has a dynamic intervention tool to consolidate the development of information technologies (IT) and encourage the creation and expansion of companies,” concludes the Minister.
