Vancouver, B.C. – At approximately 12:30 p.m. today, several TELUS telecommunications copper cables and fibre cables were cut in a construction incident unrelated to TELUS operations. Business and residential customers in the Vancouver area between Main Street and Cambie Street (east to west) and 1st Avenue to Broadway (north to south) are experiencing service degradation. In addition, customers outside this area may be experiencing service issues.
TELUS is working around the clock to rectify the situation, and will continue to provide updates.
Until service is restored, TELUS encourages customers to seek alternative means to reach police, fire and ambulance in an emergency.
