As Executive Vice-president of Operations & Application Development, Phil is based in Vancouver and supports a national team of more than 3,000 team members who are responsible for creating reliable experiences for our clients and team through a converged network and IT organization. Phil’s team oversees application development, release management, network and systems operations, change management and support activities that deliver transformational results for TELUS and external clients across the country.
Phil joined TELUS in 2003, where he led the team that provides network and IT system implementation and customer service for TELUS’ largest business and government clients. In 2011, he assumed leadership of our consumer contact centre operations, leading the more than 6,000 customer service agents and professionals that provide customer service to TELUS’ millions of consumers of mobility, entertainment, internet and telephone services across Canada.
With over 30 years of experience in the telecommunications service industry in Canada and the United States, Phil’s experience includes operations, customer service, network engineering, information technology, regulatory, and general management.
In addition to TELUS, Phil has also worked with Sprint Canada, MCI Communications and a number of other organizations.
Phil holds a Masters’ in Business Administration from the University of Rochester, and a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He has also recently completed a Master’s of Systems Engineering and Architecture program at the University of Southern California.
