Team TELUS Cares underpins our give where we live philosophy by motivating and mobilizing the TELUS team through three programs: Team TELUS Charitable Giving, Dollars for Doers and TELUS Day of Giving™. These programs help to foster a corporate culture of giving by offering team members structured volunteer and donation opportunities that help make a positive difference in the communities where we live, work and serve.
In 2011, TELUS, our team members, retirees and Community Ambassadors contributed $7.1 million in financial assistance, as well as 555,800 volunteer hours to charitable and not-for-profit organizations across Canada. Further, since 2000, TELUS, our team members and retirees have committed $260 million to charitable and not-for-profit organizations and volunteered more than 4.2 million hours of service to local communities in support of our philosophy to give where we live.
