TELUS is committed to breast cancer detection and treatment
TELUS has long been a supporter of charities working towards a future without breast cancer. Since 2008, TELUS and our team members have contributed over $5.3 million in support of research, early detection and treatment of breast cancer in Canada.
Raise your paws to support the cause
For the 2013 Pink campaign, TELUS teamed up with Rethink Breast Cancer and the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation (QBCF) just in time for Mother's Day, to create an exclusive offer in support of women with breast cancer. TELUS is giving $25 to our pink partners for every white Samsung Galaxy S4 purchased, plus customers get a free limited edition panda case.* With the exclusive pink offer, customers can choose a gift that gives back to this deserving cause.
Prevention by living well
On top of being a visual statement of support, the Pink campaign seeks to help Canadians live more healthy and active lives with the hopes of preventing breast cancer. With one-third of breast cancer being preventable by living well and leading an active lifestyle, TELUS wants to teach Canadians innovative fun ways to use their phone to manage their health. Our Wellness Learning Center Session for bloggers will share fun tips and tricks and explain how to get the most out of your new GS4. As an added incentive, TELUS is giving an additional $50 to our two pink partners for each attendee. Together we can learn healthy lifestyles habits to keep Canadians vibrant and strong for years to come.
*Campaign runs from May 10 to June 30, while quantities last. Offer available in-store only, with a maximum donation of $200,000 to Rethink Breast Cancer and $50,000 to QBCF.
Our Pink Partners
Rethink Breast Cancer
Rethink Breast Cancer burst on the scene in 2001 with a desire to change the face of breast cancer and make the cause relevant to a younger generation. Rethink's mission is to continuously pioneer cutting edge breast cancer education, support and advocacy that speaks fearlessly to the needs of young women.
The overall incidence of breast cancer is projected to double globally by 2040 and incidence will continue to rise in younger women. We urgently need to reach girls and young women with relevant education about established lifestyle risk factors, as well as tools to engage and empower young people to take responsibility for their health.
Thanks to TELUS, Rethink will be able to develop and launch savvy new prevention programs to engage teens and young adults in lifestyle changes to reduce their risk of getting breast cancer.
The Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation is a registered charitable organization established in 1994. Initially, the Foundation's objectives were to provide assistance to women with breast cancer and to support medical research on the disease. Our mission still encompasses those original goals, but has gradually expanded to include activities focused on breast health awareness and education.
Since its inception the foundation has invested more than $23 million in research, education and awareness, and support programs. Thanks to the sustained generosity of partners like TELUS the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation remains hopeful that it will accomplish even more, so that fewer and fewer people will die from this disease.
