It Gets Better.
Join the international movement to show LGBTQ youth that the future is brighter after high school.
This six-minute video produced by TELUS team members is in response to several gay students who were bullied in school and took their lives in recent months. It's part of the It Gets Better Project, an international movement to show LGBTQ youth that the future is brighter after high school. More than 5,000 celebrities, politicians, activists and organizations have posted videos of support on itgetsbetter.org, a popular website with more than 15 million views.
Help us get the word out.
- LGBTQ youth are nearly four times more likely to attempt suicide than their straight peers, and almost 90 per cent have been verbally or physically assaulted. In many instances, gay and lesbian adolescents are bullied simply for being themselves.
- TELUS believes that everyone deserves to be respected and treated with dignity, regardless of sexuality. Learn more about our commitment to diversity and inclusiveness in our 2009 CSR Report.
- Founded in 2009, Spectrum is TELUS' LGBTQ team member resource group. About 120 team members connect at networking events, volunteer together in their communities, support efforts to reach LGBTQ customers and assist with LGBTQ community investment initiatives.
