TV for Good®

When you sign up for Optik TV with TELUS, good things happen. Through the TV for Good campaign, we give $25 to a local project in a select community just for becoming a TELUS customer. Since the campaign started in 2009, TELUS has given over $7 million to 49 local community projects. Together, with the support of our customers, we have helped make communities stronger with new parks, improved healthcare and updated libraries.   • Abbey Masters Builder Centre

    Sign up for Optik TV and TELUS will give $25 to help restore the Abbey Masters Builder Centre.

    For every new Optik TV customer in Qualicum Beach from August 7, 2013 to February 6, 2014, we gave $25 to the Qualicum Beach Digital Arts Studio. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute over $15,000.

  • Summerland

    For every new Optik TV customer in Summerland from August 7, 2013 to February 6, 2014, we gave $25 Stop a Bully. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute over $5,000.

  • Trail

    For every new Optik TV customer in Trail from August 7, 2013 to February 6, 2014, we gave $25 to the Take a Hike Youth at Risk Foundation. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute over $6,600.

  • Airdrie

    Due to the great success of the first two campaigns, we launched a third campaign that gave $25 towards the Boys and Girls Club of Airdrie for every new Optik TV customer in Airdrie from November 7, 2012 to May 7, 2013. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute over $16,000 to help youth in need.

  • Northern Lights Health Centre

    Fort McMurray

    For every new Optik TV customer in Fort McMurray from May 7 to November 7, 2013, we gave $25 to the Northern Lights Health Foundation. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute over $27,000.

  • Lethbridge

    Due to the great success of the first two campaigns, we launched a third campaign that gave $25 towards Lethbridge Public Library for every new TELUS TV customer in Lethbridge from August 2012 to February 15, 2013. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $55,650 to help purchase and outfit a new bookmobile.

  • Red Deer

    Due to the great success of our first campaign, we launched a second campaign that gave $25 towards 49th Street Youth Shelter for every new TELUS TV customer in Red Deer from August 15, 2012 to February 15, 2013. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $66,000 to help youth in need.

    Abbotsford

    For every new Optik TV customer in Abbotsford from May 7 to November 7, 2013, we gave $25 to Matthew’s House. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute over $54,000.

  • Comox Valley

    For every new Optik TV customer in Comox Valley from November 7, 2012 to May 7, 2013, we gave $25 to the Rotary Trails Project. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $20,000 to help build a community trail that will travel along the E & N Rail Corridor in Courtenay.

  • Canadian Red Cross

    Kelowna

    For every new Optik TV customer in Kelowna from May 7 to November 7, 2013, we gave $25 to Canadian Red Cross “Building for Humanity”. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute over $44,000.

  • Nanaimo

    For every new Optik TV customer in Nanaimo from February 7 to August 7, 2013, we gave $25 to the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute over $26,000.

  • Squamish

    For every new Optik TV customer in Squamish from February 7 to August 7, 2013, we gave $25 to the Squamish Trail Society to help resurface the Golf Course and Spawning Channel Trails. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute over $6,800.

  • Whistler

    For every new Optik TV customer in Squamish from February 7 to August 7, 2013, we gave $25 to the Zero Ceiling. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute over $5,000.

  • Cochrane

    For every new TELUS TV customer in Cochrane from June 5 - December 5, 2012, we gave $25 to the Cochrane Parent Link Centre. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $10,675 to a program helping parents and caregivers learn how to assist with their child’s learning and development.

British Columbia

  • Chilliwack

    Due to the great success of our first campaign, we launched a second campaign that gave $25 towards the new skateboard park in Sardis for every new TELUS TV customer in Chilliwack and Sardis from June 5, 2012 to December 5, 2012. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $27,775 toward the building of the new park.

  • Prince George

    Due to the great success of our first campaign, we launched a second campaign that gave $25 to the Prince George Public Library SkyLab for every new TELUS TV customer in Prince George from April 12 – October 12, 2012. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $34,150 to support the innovative computer lab.

  • Airdrie

    Due to the great success of our first campaign, we launched a second campaign that gave $100 to the Boys and Girls Club of Airdrie for every new TELUS TV customer in Airdrie from May 9, 2011 to May 3, 2012. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $150,000 towards youth multimedia and music programs.

  • Fort McMurray

    Due to the great success of our first campaign, we launched a second campaign that gave $100 to Keyano College Theatre for every new TELUS TV customer in Fort McMurray from June 8, 2011 to June 8, 2012. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $100,000 towards new theatre upgrades.

  • Grande Prairie

    Due to the great success of our first campaign, we launched a second campaign that gave $25 to the Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum for every new TELUS TV customer in Grande Prairie from February 8 to August 8, 2012. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $44,650 to the number one educational tourism attraction in Northern Alberta.

  • Lethbridge

    Due to the great success of our first campaign, we launched a second campaign that gave $100 to the Lethbridge Public Library Bookmobile for every new TELUS TV customer in Lethbridge from November 14, 2011 to May 14, 2012. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $60,000 to help bring literacy to more children in Lethbridge.

  • Medicine Hat

    Due to the great success of our first campaign, we launched a second campaign that gave $100 to the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital Foundation for every new TELUS TV customer in Medicine Hat from May 9, 2011 to May 3, 2012. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $150,000 towards the purchase of equipment to support children’s health.

  • St. Albert

    For every new TELUS TV customer in St. Albert from February 8 to August 8, 2012, we gave $25 to the Sturgeon Community Hospital. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $20,600 towards digital operating room equipment enhancements.

  • Whitecourt

    For every new TELUS TV customer in Whitecourt from March 1, 2011 to March 1, 2012, we gave $100 to the Whitecourt Splash Park. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $60,000 to support the building of the park for all residents to enjoy.

British Columbia

  • Abbotsford

    Thanks to our Optik TV customers in Abbotsford, TELUS gave $60,000 to Canuck Place Children's Hospice in Abbotsford, in support of specialized pediatric palliative care for children living with a life-threatening illness and support for their families throughout British Columbia.

  • Ashcroft

    For every new TELUS TV customer in Ashcroft from February 9, 2011 to February 9, 2012, we gave $100 to the Ashcroft & Area Food Bank run by the South Cariboo Elizabeth Fry Society. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $20,400 to help fill the food bank for those in need.

  • Campbell River

    For every new TELUS TV customer in Campbell River from March 1, 2011 to May 31, 2012, we gave $100 to the Campbell River Rotary Water Park. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $123,200 towards the building of the park for all residents to enjoy.

  • Kamloops

    Due to the great success of our first campaign, we launched a second campaign that gave $100 to the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation's ICU Campaign for every new TELUS TV customer in Kamloops from August 3, 2011 to August 3, 2012. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $230,000 to the hospital foundation’s ICU campaign.

  • Kelowna

    Due to the great success of our first campaign, we launched a second campaign that gave $100 to the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation for every new TELUS TV customer in Kelowna from March 8, 2011 to March 8, 2012. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $350,000 to support the Foundation's Take Care, Take Part campaign that raised funds for the new Emergency and Ambulatory Care Departments to better meet the needs of the growing Kelowna population.

  • Penticton

    Due to the great success of our first campaign, we launched a second campaign that gave $25 to the South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation for every new TELUS TV customer in Penticton from February 8 to August 8, 2012. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $40,000 to support the Penticton Regional Hospital.

  • Whistler

    For every new TELUS TV customer in Whistler from August 3, 2011 to August 3, 2012, we gave $100 to the Whistler Adaptive Sports Program. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $75,000 to youth athletic programs so all kids have the opportunity to play.

  • Fort McMurray

    For every new TELUS TV customer in Fort McMurray from June 8, 2010 to June 8, 2011, we gave $100 to the Northern Lights Health Foundation. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $175,000 to support the development of new programs and purchase life-saving medical equipment.

  • Grande Prairie

    For every new TELUS TV customer in Grande Prairie from June 8, 2010 to June 8, 2011, we gave $100 to the New Aquatics & Recreation Multiplex. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $250,000 the For Me. For Life. Campaign that raised money to build the new recreation centre.

  • Lethbridge

    For every new TELUS TV customer in Lethbridge from March 2, 2010 to March 2, 2011, we gave $100 to the University of Lethbridge. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $350,000 to support the expansion of the Nicholas Sheran Leisure Centre, providing the Pronghorns women’s hockey program a team room while enhancing the training facilities for both university and local minor hockey groups.

  • Red Deer

    For every new TELUS TV customer in Red Deer from June 8, 2010 to June 8, 2011, we gave $100 to the G.H. Dawe Community Centre. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $250,000 to provide enhanced aquatic amenities and dryland activity space in the facility to help build a better experience for citizens of Red Deer.

British Columbia

  • Abbotsford

    For every new TELUS TV customer in Abbotsford from August 4, 2010 to August 4, 2011, we gave $100 to the Abbotsford Hospice Society. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $225,000 to help build the 10-suite residential hospice that will become a part of the Abbotsford Campus of Care.

  • Chilliwack

    For every new TELUS TV customer in Chilliwack from August 4, 2010 to August 4, 2011, we gave $100 to the Chilliwack General Hospital Foundation. Thanks to our customers, we were able to thatcontribute $170,000 towards the redevelopment of the Chilliwack General Hospital.

  • Cranbrook

    For every new TELUS TV customer in Cranbrook from August 4, 2010 to August 4, 2011, we gave $100 to the Kootenay Child Health and Development Centre. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $80,000 towards building the multi-service centre dedicated to improving health and development services for children and youth in the East Kootenay region of British Columbia.

  • Kamloops

    For every new TELUS TV customer in Kamloops from June 8, 2010 to June 8, 2011, we gave $100 to the North Kamloops Library Computer Lab. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $125,000 to provide 9 computers and technology equipment for the new lab.

  • Mission

    For every new TELUS TV customer in Mission from August 4, 2010 to August 4, 2011, we gave $100 to the Zajac Ranch for Children. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $85,000 to the ranch that hosts hundreds of children with serious and chronic illnesses and disabilities who might not otherwise have a chance to enjoy a summer camp experience.

  • Penticton

    For every new TELUS TV customer in Penticton from March 2, 2010 to March 2, 2011, we gave $100 to the Okanagan College Centre of Excellence. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $50,000 to help support the region’s most innovative and sustainable building development.

  • Powell River

    For every new TELUS TV customer in Powell River from March 2, 2010 to March 2, 2011, we gave $100 to the Powell River Regional Hospital Foundation. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $15,000 to purchase essential dental surgery equipment to make the continuation of important dental surgery operations within the hospital possible.

  • Prince George

    Due to the great success of our first campaign, we launched a second campaign that gave $100 to the Canadian Cancer Society Kordyban Lodge for every new TELUS TV customer in Prince George from November 15, 2010 to November 15, 2011. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $373,400 to support the construction of the lodge that will provide accommodation for individuals and their caregivers travelling to Prince George for treatment at the BC Cancer Agency Centre for the North.

  • Sechelt

    Due to the great success of our first campaign, we launched a second campaign that gave $100 to the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation for every new TELUS TV customer in Sechelt from November 4, 2010 to November 4, 2011. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $46,400 to support the redevelopment of St. Mary's Hospital.

  • Vernon

    For every new TELUS TV customer in Vernon from March 2, 2010 to March 2, 2011, we gave $100 to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $175,000 to the hospital foundation's Building a Tower of Care campaign.

  • Victoria

    For every new TELUS TV customer in Victoria from February 9, 2011 to November 1, 2011, we gave $100 to the David Foster Foundation. Due to the great success of our first campaign, we launched a second campaign from November 14, 2011 to May 14, 2012. Thanks to our customers, we were able to give a combined total of $600,000 to support families with children in need of organ transplants.

  • Airdrie

    For every new TELUS TV customer in Airdrie from October 14, 2009 to October 14, 2010, we gave $100 to Genesis Place. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $121,600 to the recrecation centre expansion project.

  • Medicine Hat

    For every new TELUS TV customer in Medicine Hat from November 13, 2009 to November 13, 2010, we gave $100 to the Medicine Hat Family Leisure Centre. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $338,400 to support new additions and enhancements to the fitness centre, aquatic centre and technology resources.

British Columbia

  • Kelowna

    For every new TELUS TV customer in Kelowna from October 14, 2009 to October 14, 2010, we gave $100 to the YMCA-YWCA of Central Okanagan. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $588,900 to the new Family Y gym that will open up a world of fitness and community to all Kelowna residents.

  • Prince George

    For every new TELUS TV customer in Prince George from October 28, 2009 to October 28, 2010, we gave $100 to the Cottonwood Island Park Rehabilitation Project. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $144,500 to help restore activities in Cottonwood Island Park for the residents of Prince George to enjoy.

  • Sechelt

    For every new TELUS TV customer in Sechelt from October 14, 2009 to October 14, 2010, we gave $100 to the Sechelt Maritime Gateway Day Float. Thanks to our customers, we were able to contribute $30,100 to the new dock that will enhance usage of Sechelt's pier area and improve accessibility to the community and shorefront.

  • Vancouver Island

    For every new TELUS TV customer on Vancouver Island from July 29, 2009 to June 22, 2010, we gave $100 to Jeneece Place. Thanks to our customers, were we able to contribute $1 million to help Jeneece Edroff fulfill her dream of building a temporary home where families can stay when one of their members needs medical services in Victoria.
