iSisters Technology Mentoring

iSisters Technology Mentoring’s Mobile Learning Lab is a unique project that delivers weekly technology training to young at-risk women between the ages of 16 and 24 in Ottawa shelters and transitional housing.

With funding from the TELUS Ottawa Community Board, iSisters’ Mobile Learning Lab offers their young female clients 21st century digital literacy skills that will lead them toward further training, education and employment opportunities. The program consisting of three laptop computers and a trainer directly benefits between 60-80 young at-risk women in Ottawa within a year.

"The TELUS Ottawa Community Board has had a tremendous impact on helping young at-risk women in Ottawa learn new technology skills. Six young women have used this lab to learn web design and photo editing skills. We are planning to showcase the work of these students at our 10th Anniversary Celebration."
