Volunteerism

In support of our vision to become Canada's premier corporate citizen, we are committed to building a corporate culture of giving, and engaging the hearts and minds of our team members and retirees to improve the quality of life in our communities.

We take enormous pride in the efforts of all TELUS team members who so generously donate their time to personal causes.

Dollars for Doers

This program recognizes and rewards the community volunteer work of our team members and retirees.  Once an individual has recorded a minimum of 50 hours of volunteer service they are able to donate $200 to the registered Canadian charity or non-profit community sports organization of their choice.  If four or more TELUS team members volunteer for activities together, and record a minimum of 200 volunteer hours, they are able to donate $1,000 to the registered Canadian charity or non-profit community sports organization of their choice.

In 2007 this program donated over $507,000 to registered Canadian charities and non-profit community sports teams across Canada.

TELUS Day of Service – Saturday, May 31, 2008

To build on the importance of volunteerism TELUS has created our annual TELUS Day of Service.  On one day every year, the entire TELUS team gets together to give where they live.  Thousands of TELUS team members and retirees, along with family and friends, volunteer to improve the communities where they live and work.  TELUS Day of Service provides the much needed, and often scarce, people resources that can be just as important to a charity.

The TELUS team represents 34,000 strong and factoring in our retirees the TELUS team represents over 45,000 - imagine the impact we can make as a collective on one day in our local communities.

Visit our online teambook to see photos and videos from activities that took place across the country during our second annual TELUS Day of Service on September 29, 2007.
