Governance Essentials Program (GEP)

As part of our support for community organizations across Canada, TELUS sponsors governance training called "Governance Essentials Program". This two and one-half-day session is designed to educate directors of not-for-profit and charitable organizations on their key board accountabilities and director responsibilities.

The program focuses on the role of board members, conceptual thinking, communication, and change management principles needed to build an effective board and governance process and best practices for non-profit governance.

TELUS sponsors this program through a partnership between the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) and the University of Toronto's Joseph L. Rotman School of Management.

Since its successful launch in 2006 in six cities (Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal), 495 participants have graduated from the program.
