Three TELUS executives among most powerful women in Canada

Karen Radford, Judy Shuttleworth and Janet Yale named to the Women's Executive Network's list of most powerful women

Vancouver, B.C. – The Women's Executive Network recognized three TELUS leaders at the 2006 Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100™ awards luncheon on November 21 in Toronto. Karen Radford, executive vice-president and president, TELUS Québec and Partner Solutions, Janet Yale, executive vice-president, Corporate Affairs, and Judy Shuttleworth, executive vice-president, Human Resources, were among those named to the prestigious list.

“The TELUS team applauds Karen, Janet, Judy and all of those recognized as Canada's most powerful women,” said Darren Entwistle, TELUS President and CEO. “TELUS is very fortunate to have among its leaders these three talented women who are renowned for their business acumen and dynamic leadership. They provide strategic vision that drives TELUS' growth and inspires our 30,000 team members across Canada.”

An independent advisory board selected the TELUS executives for their career successes as well as their dedication to bettering their communities. Karen is recognized for her commitment to youth organizations and mentoring emerging leaders and is the president and co-founder of the Women's Leadership Foundation. Janet works with the National Arts Centre, the United Way and the Canadian Film Centre and is known for her leadership in the areas of community investment and corporate governance within the not-for-profit sector. Judy masterminded the TELUS Tour for the Cure, the largest community outreach program ever undertaken by the B.C./Yukon chapter of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. She is also co-vice-chair of the TELUS Vancouver Community Board.

This is the third consecutive year Karen and Janet have been awarded this honour and the second year for Judy.

Women from across Canada were honoured in several categories, including Corporate Executives, Entrepreneurs, Public Sector Leaders, Professionals, Trailblazers and Trendsetters, and Champions.
